Josephinenhütte presents a hand-signed set of glasses by Kurt Josef Zalto.

Star chef Wolfgang Puck was recently awarded the highly deserved title of "Gault&Millau Ambassador 2024" by Gault & Millau Austria. Martina and Karl Hohenlohe, the editors of Gault&Millau Austria, presented the 73-year-old with the with the restaurant guide’s certificate in Vienna's beautiful Palais Coburg. The high-profile event marked the start of a brand partnership between Josephinenhütte and Gault&Millau Austria.

After the moving laudation by Michael Häupl, the former mayor of Vienna, our managing director Marcus Meyer presented Wolfgang Puck with a hand-engraved set of glasses by Kurt Josef Zalto. The legendary chef had his new champagne glass filled while still on stage and without further ado, invited a delegation from Josephinenhütte to his legendary restaurant Spago in Los Angeles.

We are pleased to join Gault&Millau Austria in honoring culinary excellence and to raise the enjoyment of wine at the table with our JOSEPHINE glasses! We raise our glass to Wolfgang Puck's remarkable achievements.

The celebratory evening was characterized by culinary excellence, renowned guests, and first-rate wines, accompanied by our JOSEPHINE glasses. The guests' feedback on our glasses was consistently positive. The festive menu was composed by host Silvio Nickol and his five-star colleague Benjamin Parth from Ischgl.

Wolfgang Puck made a deep impression on me. He struck me as authentic and down-to-earth with his American-Carinthian accent. I made sure to take the opportunity to talk to him about his secret to success, and I'll take a leaf out of his book in the future. He said to me "Marcus, I am where I want to be at every moment. When I am with my family, I focus on my family. Then I am completely in the moment. It's the same at events or in my restaurants: I let myself be in the moment." And that's exactly what was true of the evening. He clearly enjoyed being at Palais Coburg, receiving the award and talking to old companions.

Wolfgang Puck operates more than 100 restaurants worldwide. Perhaps a property in downtown Vienna will soon be one of them. At least Michael Häupl expressed this wish with a smile on his face. Wolfgang Puck has been cooking for the Hollywood elite at the Governor's Ball during the Academy Awards for three decades. A lot of talent, hard work and a good network pay off, for in the meantime, a Wolfgang Puck star even adorns the famous Walk of Fame. From chef to celebrity chef - a real storybook career!
