The value of a wine is appropriately honored through its presentation in this impressive decanter. Older, extract-rich wines are decanted to free them from the deposit. In the process, and preferably with the aid of a light source, the wine is carefully poured out. Younger wines can optimally develop their diverse aromas through the additional enrichment with oxygen.
We recommend the JOSEPHINE Decanter – Brilliant Magnum for very young to young, complex, extract-rich red wines or high-class, young white and rosé wines, which, according to dealer and winemaker instructions, should be aerated for a while prior to drinking to optimally develop their sensory qualities.
Our JOSEPHINE No 3 glass is a proven Grand Seigneur. It has a large surface area, so that full-bodied and complex red wines have enough contact with oxygen. Kurt Josef Zalto has succeeded in squaring the circle with this glass – a combination of a Bordeaux and Burgundy glass. Full-bodied, concentrated and seductive Pinots, Bordeaux blends, Baroli, Syrah and the like can unfold in the JOSEPHINE No 3 in an expansive manner. Moreover, this masterpiece offers the perfect stage for full-bodied and extracted white wines, such as barrique-aged Chardonnays, as well as icon wines such as those from Napa Valley, Oregon, South America, South Africa and Australia.
For the ideal cleaning of your JOSEPHINE decanter, we recommend that you thoroughly rinse the decanter directly after each use, first with hot and then with cold water, and let it drain upside down on a stand. If small residues remain in the decanter, they can be removed with a long, flexible sponge brush and hot water. If the brush reaches all areas, the use of dishwashing detergents can be avoided. In principle, washing in the dishwasher is also possible, provided that the decanter stands securely, and a glass-only program is used. A soft linen cloth is best for polishing your decanter.
A soft linen cloth and a watercolour brush are the best things for taking care of your glass JOSEPHINE No 3. The Josephinenhütte glasses are dishwasher suitable, but hand washing is recommended.
