Our Grand Seigneur: The large surface area of the glass allows full-bodied and complex red wines to have ample contact with oxygen, enabling them to expand and unfold fully. Grand Pinots, Bordeaux blends, Barolo, Syrah, and more present themselves in the Josephine N° 3 as rich, concentrated, and seductive—just like full-bodied, extract-rich white wines such as barrel-aged Chardonnays.

Best suitable for complex wines (regardless of their color) that offer many facets, inspire with finesse and structure such premium Burgundy wines , highend Rieslings, Chenin Blancs or ripe structured and complex reds as well as top shelve grower champagnes.

Unoaked white (terroir driven) wines: Shows full complexity of e.g. premium Rieslings, Grüner Veltliners, Pinot Blancs, Chenin and Sauvignon Blancs (from Loire region), or premium Chablis and pronounced acidity.

Oaked white wines: Shows complex Burgundies in all their facets and balances oak influence very well.

Sparkling wines: Unlocks the full potential of top-shelf champagne and pronounces tertiary aromas.

Lighter red wines: Offers a more complex and intellectual approach on these wines than N° 2.

Heavier (oaked) and/or more complex red wines: Unlocks the full potential of these wines and shows every aspect of these wines by managing oak influence and tannin structure very well.

Kurt Josef Zalto was born with a deep fascination for glass. Coming from a long lineage of glassmakers spanning six generations, his passion goes far beyond a love for traditional craftsmanship. As a designer, his mission is the pursuit of the perfect form—inspired by nature. Over 20 years ago, he created a glass that was revolutionary at the time.

The Josephine is his masterpiece—a glass that distills form to its essence while elevating function to an art. “This glass embodies all the passion and experience of my life,” says Zalto. He breathed soul into the Josephine.
